Hihi! I'm doing ok. My mouth is a bit sore but it's tolerable and on top of that I left my ibuprofen at home... again.. haha!
It is a bit painful to eat but I have soup and mashed potatoes too so I'll be good to go. Only have 3 weeks and 4 days until my next appointment. I know what's coming ahead of time so I'm preparing myself...

Adjustment 4 1/2: No Pokey Wires... New Powerchains... OW!
Even though this wasn't a full adjustment, it was close enough... So we'll call it Adjustment 4 1/2.
I was totally wrong! lol I didn't have any type of pokey wires at all. Where my cheeks come down when my mouth is closed, my cheeks are rubbing against and getting caught between my brackets... Ouchie..
I also mentioned to my ortho about my lowers clashing with my uppers and he said that's normal and I'm not used to that because I've never had my teeth where they're supposed to be...
The funny thing about this whole situation is when I was on my way to the ortho office, I said and I quote, "I'm just glad that I'm going to get my wires clipped and they're not going to do anything else to me. Yay!" Boy was I wrong!
I didn't have to make an appointment to go get my wires clipped so I told the receptionst, when I got there what I was there for and she didn't even ask me my name but just told me someone would be with me. So I figured she knew who I was. Well an ortho assistant came out and was like Danielle? And I'm looking around and not seeing anyone named Danielle get up..
Well the assistant leaves and comes back and calls Danielle again, and no one answers still. So she asks the receptionist where Danielle was... and she pointed to me... Uhh wrong! Lol... So the receptionist looked so embarassed and she apologized for assuming I was someone else and she said, well you both look so much alike...
Well after my assistant found out what my name was, she clocked out the Danielle person and I managed to get a look at her picture before she switched to mine... We look nothing alike... Haha!
Anywho, so after explaining my problems to my ortho about what's been going on, he pretty much said ok, well we're going to put a new tighter powerchain on your uppers AND going to put an even tighter chain on your lowers. I'm thinking OMG! I didn't come here for that!!
So I now have two clear powerchains on my upper and lower arch and they weren't kidding when they said they were tight... The real pain hasn't kicked in yet but I know it's going to KILL my teeth....
Oh yeah! I no longer have that extra loop in the middle of my two front teeth. I now have one powerchain stretched across my two front teeth. So that means we're in the final stages of closing this gap up! Woohoo.
*Warning: There will probably be a whiny update soon about how my teeth hurt in a few hours and I'm sorry if it's annoying...*

6 Month Braceiversary: Revenge of the Pokeys..
Hi!
My upper right wire is poking me in the cheek and no amount of wax will help it, so I will have it clipped tomorrow. Can't wait for the sweet relief! Pokey wires are NO FUN! I feel like the inside of my cheek is being poked with a needle over and over agian. Can't take it anymore! It has to goooo!
But the positive to the pain, is that my upper teeth are moving, which is good. :)
OH YEAH! Today makes it 6 months since I got braces! Woohoo.... only 2 years to go! lol. It will be bittersweet when they come off. I will be happy when they come off because I won't have to deal with pain anymore and I can eat whatever I want.. (Hershey with almonds... yummm) But I'll miss them as well because I like my braces!
But in two years time, that chapter of my life will close and I'll begin a new one with straight teeth and confidence!

Week 26: Overjet be gone! :D
Yo!
My overjet is pretty much gone! :D My left side could just be brough in a little more but besides that my overjet has disappeared! My centrals are aligned and all i'm waiting for is my gap to close. Slowly but surely my teeth are a moving.
I haven't really had the problem of my lower teeth hitting my upper teeth anymore but my lower teeth are now hitting the back of my upper teeth, so me think my lowers need to be tilted inwards just a little.
But we'll see what the ortho has in store for me at my *gulp* next adjustment. I am really really really not looking forward to this next adjustment.

Week 25: Teeth Settling Down... but...
This will not be another whiny post. lol I'm doing much better now. My teeth have finally started settling down. I still have the occasional pain but I can atleast tolerate that.
I can feel my powerchain and wire squeezing my teeth a bit but it's not so bad. I have been dealing with my gum being swollen around my right 2nd molar. It seems like after I had this adjustment, that my molar is either moving or maybe it's not being cleaned properly but I know it hurts pretty bad.
I think part of the problem is that it's sunken backwards into my gum. When I had my lower wisdom teeth, they grew in sideways and were putting pressure on my molars and caused them to sink in. Soo I don't know if my ortho will be able to upright them or if I'll have to have them extracted. Hoping that he can upright them.. even though that sounds pretty painful too...
I'm also having issues with my lower teeth hitting my upper brackets and my upper teeth are starting to sit behind my lower teeth too.. soo need to call Dr. Mauro and have him look at my teeth.
Anywho.. besides all that stuff... things are looking good with my mouth. My gaps are getting smaller and my teeth are really looking good.. :)
All the pain is worth it but when you're actually in pain, you tend to lose focus of it being worth it. You go back to OMG, get these things out of my mouth right now... lol!

3rd Day After Adjust: Still a bit sore...
I now I understand people who are going through coil spring pain... My tooth is still a bit sore, not as sore as yesterday but it hasn't went back to normal yet. I'll def give it a few more days. Besides that one tooth, all my other teeth are fine. :)
The next adjustment is going to be a pain in the butt... Will have to remember to take a couple ibuprofen because I know my teeth are going to hurt bad!

Day After 4th Adjust.. Try a Little Tenderness!...
Well I survived yesterday and took a couple pain reliever. I was even able to eat beef stew last night! :D
Today, my teeth are a bit sore but it's only when I bite down on my right side. Most of the discomfort is coming from my brand new coil spring. It's really working on pushing my teeth apart.
Besides all of that, I'm actually doing pretty good! :)
